Started by a group of volunteers named the German-American Ladies Society, Altenheim opened in Cleveland in 1892. In response to growing and changing needs, Altenheim moved to its present campus in Strongsville in 1980. Since then, Altenheim Senior Living has grown to include a 128 bed therapy rehab center and skilled nursing facility, an 85 apartment senior and assisted living residence, a 38 suite memory assisted living residence, an out-patient therapy clinic, and an at home private duty agency. We continually strive to meet the developing needs and desires of our growing senior population.
Since 1892, people from all ethnic and religious backgrounds have called Altenheim home. The caring commitment of the Board of Directors, management, staff and volunteers is evident. Altenheim Senior Living is renowned as one of the finest senior living communities in Ohio.
